I don't often go up into the ski resorts when I visit Utah - the traffic simply isn't worth the hassle - but heard a fine-dining restaurant that you could snowshoe in had opened and was instantly interested in making the trek to try it out. I'm thrilled that a spot opened up when I was recently in Utah at the Yurt, as the experience was splendid; the food was fantastic and the chef was very personable and entertaining. I typically don't enjoy being seated with other people at my table, but even that proved to be a pretty fun experience! Every course had a bit of adventure to it; the chef definitely has some neat culinary ideas that push you into trying things but isn't weird or too avant-garde. I have to really applaud how they managed to plate everything attractively and get it out quickly for all 30 patrons and made it look easy, despite it clearly not being easy. In all, I was delighted by not just the food and the service, but the entire experience, and intend to go back when I'm in Utah.

This is an incredibly fun, yet accessible evening without the need for too much prior planning. For locals, its a quick drive up the canyon then back home. For visitors, its worth the drive from whichever resort/hotel youre staying at. The dinner is prepared by a chef over a wood fired stove. The meal is 6 elegant courses and the food was top notch. The really cool aspect of this dinner however, is the intimate setting. Guests sit at a large table opposite other guests and the opportunity to engage with and learn about the other diners is a riot. Great conversation, and amazing food. Be sure to bring your own wine, the yurt doesnt offer any vino and trust me youll want to pair something with this dinner

Alyssa led us up a wonderful snowshoe hike through a frosted winter forest at dusk. We were met by a toasty warm yurt and a glass of bubbly followed by an incredible five-course meal from chef Ben. My favorite (although it was near impossible to choose), was the butternut squash soup with morels, rabbit confit, and sage oil. We brought our own wine but they have a full service drink menu too.

Fun and unique experience at The Yurt! Our server and guide, Pam, was so friendly and went out of her way to create a warm and comfortable atmosphere. The chef created an amazing dinner for us. We liked it so much the first time that this was our second visit!

Unforgettable Snowshoe Yurt Dinner at Solitude! If you’re looking for a truly magical winter dining experience, the four-course snowshoe dinner at Solitude is an absolute must! From start to finish, this was one of the most unique and memorable nights we’ve ever had. The evening began with a peaceful snowshoe trek under the stars, leading us to a cozy yurt nestled in the trees. Inside, we were welcomed by the warm glow of candlelight and the incredible aromas of our upcoming meal. Our server, Pam, was fantastic—attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. And Chef Matt absolutely outdid himself with every course, crafting dishes that were not only beautifully presented but bursting with flavor. Each course was a delightful surprise, with fresh, seasonal ingredients and a perfect balance of comfort and creativity. The atmosphere inside the yurt was intimate and rustic, making the whole evening feel like a dream. This experience is worth every penny and then some—whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just looking for something different, this snowshoe yurt dinner is pure magic. We’ll be talking about this night for a long time!

Great experience! Easy snowshoe trail to dinner at the Yurt! 5 Course rotating menu prepared in front of you by a fantastic chef. The chef and the yurt itself are new for this year, so it was a great experience and left so so so full, in a good way! Side note, it was toasty warm inside - so definitely dress in layers.

A fantastic, memorable dinner—intimate and personal. It’s definitely a splurge, but if you think of it as only a meal, you’re missing the point. From the snowshoe approach, to the people you’ll meet, to the interactions with the chef, it’s an experience meant to stretch over three to four hours. I won’t give away the secrets, except to say it’s my favorite date night in Utah.
